The history of The Village Shops in Vero Beach involves Jay McLaughlin, co-founder of the iconic J.McLaughlin clothing brand with his brother Kevin in 1977, who, with his wife Joan, revitalized the shopping center around 2013, transforming it into a popular destination for chic boutiques and dining, blending his classic American style with Vero’s vibrant culture. McLaughlin’s vision, rooted in “old school” methods and family inspiration, brought a new lifestyle to the shops, making them a key part of Vero Beach’s scene.
